1957 Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing

Mercedes is synonymous with luxury, but things once took a turn for the badass, with the 1957 Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing. Reminiscent of the Batmobile, this Auber-sleek ride was conjured up by Max Hoffman, an American Mercedes importer. Its powerful-for-the-time 240 hp and a top speed of 166 MPH, render this bad boy nothing to scoff at. And it’s only gotten more breathtaking with each passing year. If all these elements combined weren’t awesome enough, there is also the ultra-fierce black-on-red color scheme to kick the cool level up a notch. 1957…what a time to be alive.
